CANOE LIVERY & WATER SPORTS

 canoe-red

Virginia has many canoe and kayaking opportunities. Whether it is a float trip to enjoy the scenery, or a white water run to get your blood rushing through your body, there is something for everyone. The James River boasts a year around run except for the times when rainfall overdoes itself. It offers more leisurely journey’s, and canoeing. Public access can be found at Glasgow Landing. Goshen Pass is the most popular white water in Virginia, and is rated high difficulty. This is a six mile trip with numerous class II, class III and class IV rapids.

Outfitting:

Twin River Outfitters (canoes, kayaks & river tubes) is currently the only canoe livery which offers trips on the Maury River and does so every spring, from April thru June depending on water levels.        www.canoevirginia.net    540-261-7334.
